Jabu Ordnance Makhubela

Mr Jabu Makhubela is currently working as a Manager at the University of Fort Hare in the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships where he is managing the International Student Services Unit. He holds a master’s degree in public administration and management from the University of Limpopo and he is currently enrolled for a PhD in Public Affairs at the Tshwane University of Technology. He started his career as an International Affairs Practitioner at the University of Limpopo in the International Office from 01st January 2015 until 31st October 2021.

He has more than ten (10) years’ experience in the Higher Education sector and knowledge in Internationalisation of Higher Education. In his ten (10) years he has established many networks, collaborations, and partnerships with a number of Embassies and High Commissions in South Africa, organisations and institutions in Africa and overseas in Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Togo, Ethiopia, Zambia, China, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, France etc. He Coordinated International Credit Mobility programmes (ICM) and worked with various universities globally i.e. Eduardo Mondlane, in Mozambique, Malaga, Alcala both in Spain, Western Kentucky in the US, Frederick Engel and the University of Erlangen-Nurenmberg both in Germany  and he was also a member of the Steering Committee for the IMPALA project (Internationalisation and Modernization Programme for Academics, Leaders and Administrators), from 2016 – 2019 and LATFURE (Learning and Teaching Tools Fuelling University Relations with Economy in Mozambique and South Africa) from 2017 to 2020 both funded by the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union.
