Dr Moncef Meddeb is Attaché for Science and Technology at the French Embassy in Pretoria since September 2019. Working with academic partners and both government agencies, he is responsible for strengthening the ties between France and South Africa in scientific and academic cooperation.
Dr Meddeb is an academic in applied mathematics at University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. He also has a degree as an engineer from Ecole Polytechnique. In research, he contributed to general equilibrium theory and risk measure theory in finance.
He has always been interested in international cooperation and worked with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for more than ten years. In Turkey he headed, for 3 years, the french cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Galatasaray. In Phnom Penh, he was counsellor to the Director of the Institute of technology of Cambodia and worked on major projects for the strategic development of the engineering school. In Thailand he was the Attaché for Academic and Scientific cooperation where he restructured the modalities and the instruments to enhance the bilateral cooperation.
