SPEAKER BIO

Mzwandile Zulu

Mr. Mzwandile Zulu is a New Generation of Academic (nGAP) lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he recently completed his Ph.D. in mathematics education. Before his academic career, he worked as a school mathematics educator for three years. Mr. Zulu is a recipient of the Talent Excellence and Equity Scholarship which funded his Masters degree and an Erasmus+ student mobility scholarship which funded a semester of his Ph.D. studies in Latvia.

Mr. Zulu has presented long papers at the AMESA and EASA conferences while still a full-time postgraduate student, demonstrating his passion for sharing his research and contributing to the scholarly community. He has a keen interest in ICT, visualization, teaching, and sustainable development within the field of mathematics education, and intends to expand his scholarship in these areas. In addition, Mr. Zulu has been involved in community engagement initiatives such as assisting learners from grades 10 to 12 with mathematics, among other initiatives. This demonstrates his commitment to making a positive impact in his field and beyond.
