I am currently doctoral PhD student whose research topic pertains to international partnerships for research and global competitiveness in higher education. My study aims to analyse the ways in which University of Pretoria, an African flagship university, used international partnerships as a strategy to become research-intensive and globally competitive and to what extent these international partnerships were mutual.
