I am currently doctoral PhD student whose research topic pertains to international partnerships for research and global competitiveness in higher education. My study aims to analyse the ways in which University of Pretoria, an African flagship university, used international partnerships as a strategy to become research-intensive and globally competitive and to what extent these international partnerships were mutual.
In addition to being a PhD student, I work full-time as a professional support staff member at University of Pretoria. My portfolio focuses on facilitating and fostering international partnerships and managing UP funded international programmes. I have nine years of experience of working in a research and innovation focused support department, and with partners from both the Global North and the Global South.
Prior to working at the Department of Research and Innovation at University of Pretoria, I gained international exposure and experience due to completing a Masters degree Programme in Human Ecology at Lund University, Sweden.
