Lebogang Mercy Kekana

Lebogang Mercy Kekana, currently pursuing a Master of Education degree at the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, has submitted her final dissertation for evaluation. The focus of her study is on exploring “The Leadership Experiences of Female Principals in Working Alongside Their School Governing Bodies in Waterberg District, Limpopo Province.”

In a recently published article from 2021 titled “The Importance of School Governing Bodies in the Effective Governance of Public Schools: Do Women Have a Role?”, Kekana delves into the significance of SGBs in school governance.

 

Kekana’s academic journey is strengthened by her extensive leadership background, which has greatly contributed to her professional growth. Notably, she participated in an exchange program in Nebraska, Lincoln, focusing on leadership and educational studies. With a profound commitment to student development and success, Kekana has made significant contributions in her roles. Previously, she served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Education & Professional Studies, and currently, she holds the position of Teaching and Learning coordinator within the Faculty of Humanities at CUT.
