Mkhize has a wealth of experience to his academic pursuits, having engaged in various educational initiatives aimed at promoting both internationalisation at home and abroad. In 2021 he was given an opportunity to participate in an exchange study program in Uppsala, Sweden where his interest in internationalisation of higher education was nurtured.

Beyond his academic endeavors, Mkhize is known for his leadership qualities and his ability to inspire others to pursue their goals with determination and resilience. He is actively in his university, actively participating in initiatives that aim raise awareness on students’ participation on the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
