SPEAKER BIO

Sacha Joseph-Mathews

Dr. Sacha Joseph-Mathews is the Inaugural Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of Stanislaus State where she serves as a member of the CSU’s cabinet, with strategic responsibility for promoting and enabling inclusive excellence for all students, faculty, and staff.

Prior to joining Stanislaus State, she served as the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Development in the Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific.  She has a PhD in Business Administration and has been teaching students, training business professionals and doing strategic planning with organizations for over 20 years.  Dr. Joseph-Mathews has published articles in services management and marketing, tourism and hospitality, ethical consumption, social entrepreneurship as well as diversity, equity and inclusion.

In addition to her academic work, Sacha is also the owner of Joseph-Mathews Consulting which offers training in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, de-escalation and conflict management, customer service and intergenerational communication.  To date, Dr. Joseph-Mathews has trained hundreds of business professionals in unconscious bias, DEI audits, de-escalation techniques, conflict management, intergenerational communication strategies, managing microaggressions and understanding DEI in the workplace.  Her clients work from a wide cross section of industries including academica, healthcare, law enforcement, K-12 education, transit and state entities.
